Data loggers improve temperature management and energy efficiency in the frozen food supply chain
The whole of the frozen food supply chain in the UK could benefit from the results of a practical research initiative carried out by the British Frozen Food Federation (BFFF) using Tinytag temperature data loggers, saving thousands of pounds in its annual energy bill and reducing CO2 emissions in the process. Tinytag data loggers help companies in the frozen food industry to better understand the importance of using data loggers to improve te... [more]
Climate Center offers F-Gas Regulation training course

Impending phase out of R22 refrigerant will impact demand for hire equipment
R22 is a HCFC low temperature refrigerant that is used in process chillers, industrial refrigerant plants, commercial cold storage facilities and air-conditioning systems throughout the world and it is estimated by Carbon Trust that 70% of UK based food manufacturing sites have a refrigeration system using R22. R22 is an ozone depleting HCFC and like many HCFCs has been used as an interim replacement to CFC's which were banned in 2000. R22... [more]
Free roadshows on the phase-out of HCFC refrigerants
The most common HCFC, R22, is still in widespread use in both air conditioning and refrigeration applications. It is damaging to the ozone layer when released to the atmosphere. Use of HCFCs has already been banned in the manufacture of new equipment. In the next stage, the use of virgin HCFCs for topping up existing equipment will become illegal from the end of 2009. Climate Center is joining forces with A-Gas to present a series of informati... [more]
