A. O. Smith Electrical Products Company has expanded its 4-in-1 multiple-horsepower replacement motor line for the heating and air conditioning (HAC) market to include two new 1/8 through 1/3 horsepower, eight-pole motors.

The new 4-in-1 stock number ORM5488 is a sleeve bearing model, and the new 4-in-1 stock number ORM5488B is a ball bearing model. Both models operate at 1/8 – 1/3 horsepower and 825 RPMs. A. O. Smith’s original 4-in-1 stock number ORM5458 is a sleeve bearing model and ORM5458B is a ball bearing model. These two models operate at 1/6 – 1/3 horsepower and 1075 RPMs. All models are multi-horsepower replacement motors for Emerson, Rheem, and other brands.

These totally enclosed A. O. Smith motors are capable of reversible rotation. Mounting of these motors also offers great flexibility, as they may be mounted via a bellyband, thru-bolts or shell holes. Another added feature of these 4-in-1 motors is the short bodies, which allows the motors to be installed in various positions including horizontal, shaft-up or shaft-down.

The line of 4-in-1 replacement motors may be easily and quickly installed on-site for most condenser fan applications. The unique design of these single-speed motors allows them to operate efficiently and effectively at multiple horsepowers.

“The A. O. Smith line of 4-in-1 multi-horsepower replacement motors is generating strong demand among service technicians due to the motor’s flexible capabilities, stated Warren Doney, manager of channel marketing, A. O. Smith Electrical Products Company. “Demand for the expanded 4-in-1 motor product offering continues to exceed our expectations,” Doney commented.
