New temperature data logger can also record humidity
(19/12/2007)
Hotbox International has introduced a credit card sized data logger, which can measure and record relative humidity as well as temperature. The new LogTag is believed to be the first cost effective temperature data logger, to be commercially available in the UK, which can also record humidity.
“When air is cooled it also is dried which can make for uncomfortable working or living conditions. However in cooled or refrigerated storage facilities, too dry an atmosphere can result in actual damage to the goods stored. Ensuring optimum humidity as well as temperature is therefore vital. That’s why we believe our new dual temperature and humidity LogTag data logger will be of particular interest to heating, ventilation and refrigeration engineers”, said Steve Hinch, Managing Director of Hotbox International.
He added: “Easy-to-use, they are flexible and reliable. You simply choose how many readings you need and at what intervals, before hanging the LogTag in the space to be monitored. At the end of recording period, be that a day, a week or month later, you simply retrieve the LogTags, place them in the data download cradle provided and automatically transfer the data to your PC. You can then analyse and check the readings, before emailing them to a third party or storing them safely for future reference.”
Capable of measuring and storing up to 8000 sets of high resolution temperature and humidity readings, this credit card sized device is ideal for heating, lighting and ventilation engineers. Temperature and humidity readings are automatically downloaded via the unique interface cradle provided to a standard PC. LogTags are capable of measuring temperature in the range of: -45oC to + 85oC, and relative humidity from 0% to 100%.
LogTag readings are highly accurate, with a variation margin of just 0.1%RH & 0.1oC/oF, and multiple tags can be used with a single interface cradle. Each model features an alert indicator, which can be configured to individual requirements, to provide a visual alert should the temperature or humidity stray from your prescribed parameters. There are three models to choose from: one which measures temperature, one which measures both temperature and RH, and a third for applications where a probe is required. Prices start at just £37.
