Airco achieves ISO 9001:2000 certification

The Hull-based Airco Group has achieved the ISO 9001:2000 quality standard, following a nine-month drive to enhance its own business practices.
The ISO 9001:2000 certification, which is recognised globally, followed a rigorous process in which Airco implemented a totally new customer relation management system to track every item of work from making initial contact to ensuring complete customer satisfaction. Neil Fisher, Airco’s Managing Director sees this achievement as part of an ongoing process:
“The number one priority for ISO 9001 businesses is customer satisfaction, and a major part of that is continual improvement. Everybody here has fully embraced what it is all about and I am totally confident they will see long-term benefits as a result. It’s helped us to work more effectively and efficiently without any extra work or bureaucracy. The positive effects have been felt by everyone here.”
Neil believes this success is a further vindication of the company policy to invest heavily in their team, whom he feels have got a lot out of: “A huge benefit in working towards this award has been looking carefully at the way we go about our business day-to-day. We now think carefully about what we are doing, why we are doing it and how we can do it better. The whole exercise has not only illustrated what we are capable of but also demonstrates that all staff in the company takes great pride in their work. I have been genuinely impressed - and very pleased - with the impact this process has had on everyone and am sure that will continue.”
Originating from Kingston upon Hull in 1991, the Airco Group has developed from a small local company into one of the market leaders in professional engineering with a network of engineers throughout the UK that service, maintain and install the full spectrum of refrigeration, air conditioning, heating and electrical systems.
