ROCOL launches 100 per cent P.T.F.E. thread sealant

ROCOL has launched the Twineflon pipe thread sealing cord, a dynamic universal P.T.F.E. (Polytetrafluoroethylene) pipe sealant which adjusts its state during installation to create the perfect seal.

P.T.F.E. is the most chemically resistant substance known to man. This means it overcomes the risk of the seal being destroyed over time by the liquids and gases being carried in the pipes.

Twineflon 100% P.T.F.E. thread sealant offers universal chemical resistance and can remain functionally stable in a wide temperature range between -200 degrees and +240 degrees.

Non flammable, the product is approved for use with hot and cold drinking water by WRAS and can be used without restriction to seal pipes for all gases and fuels, including propane and butane in both gaseous and liquid form. The latest addition to the ROCOL range of high performance products for the gas and plumbing industry, Twineflon is also tested and approved up to 100 bar pressure in accordance with EN751-3.

With an unlimited shelf-life and applied easily via a hand held dispenser which includes a 360 degrees proprietary cutter, Twineflon eliminates the need to use any other pipe thread sealant.

Chris Nettleship who heads the gas and plumbing team at ROCOL says, “Pipe thread sealants perform a crucial role in safety and environmental protection by overcoming the problem of free space that inevitably results when two threaded pipes are joined.

“Unlike other pipe thread sealing cords, the Twineflon cord is the actual seal. Those based on natural fibres or multifilaments rely on a coating to provide the seal which can hinder performance. Twineflon is different, with a unique combination of benefits to ensure it provides an instant seal as well as one which will last in the long term.”
