Lombard Vehicle Management supplies of 1,000 service engineers vans to British Gas
(20/11/2007)
British Gas has awarded the supply of 1,000 service engineers’ vans on a four year operating lease to Lombard Vehicle Management (LVM). The move helps the energy company to reduce its environmental footprint by switching to the latest Euro IV-compliant diesel technology.
The vehicles, all VW Caddys, will be run on operating lease and are being delivered signwritten and fitted out with racking and bulkheads. Deliveries are under way and currently running at 50 a week.
“We have a long relationship with Lombard Vehicle Management,” says British Gas General Manager - Fleet, Colin Marriott. “They were very strong on pricing for this deal and have an excellent all-round proposition for large van fleets. If you put together their depth of van expertise and with their financial expertise and scale, you get the competitiveness which British Gas looks for in its partners.”
“We were the first leasing company to establish a dedicated van division and the ongoing investment we’re making in that part of the business is paying off,” says Wayne Millward, Van Operations Manager. “We are winning increasing business from major public-facing brands like British Gas and look forward to adding value to the service they provide in the future.”
