Quality Directory identifies vetted plumbing companies
(08/06/2006)
The volume of publicity focusing on rogue traders is making it increasingly difficult for quality plumbers to prove that they can be trusted to deliver quality work at a fair price.
According to Sebastian Brown, director of the Henley based Quality Directory, it’s time that quality plumbers receive the recognition they deserve from the general public. “Consumers are becoming more vocal about the quality of service they expect from trades people,” he comments. “With the trading standards department receiving more then one million complaints in the last year, good plumbers need to be able to convince potential customers that they offer a genuine service and high standards of workmanship.”
The Quality Directory is an on-line directory covering the Thames Valley, which allows only quality, vetted businesses to advertise.
By following these simple guidelines, businesses will stand out as a quality company:
· Having a landline – consumers are warned to beware of trades people that operate only from a mobile phone
· Including the business address on quotes – again, consumers are advised to visit the trader’s premises before commissioning work
· Guaranteeing that all work is quoted for in advance, with no ‘hidden extras’
· Belonging to a trade association
· Proving that that they are correctly insured
· Be prepared to show potential customers samples of your work and or testimonials from satisfied customers
Sebastian concludes: “By adhering to these kinds of professional business practices, quality plumbers are much more likely to generate business enquiries and secure valuable work.”
