Tectite Sprint push-fit System for faster and easier installation

The new NHBC housing regulations were introduced in September 2006 and require that any plastic pipes located behind wall surfaces are made detectable, by applying metallic tape if necessary. This whole time-consuming process is unnecessary if installing a Tectite Sprint push-fit System with Yorkex copper tube, a combination that also provides electrical continuity.

Tectite Sprint is the newest product within Yorkshire Fittings’ Tectite push-fit range. Tectite Sprint metal plumbing and heating systems can take up to 67% less time to install, and ensure trouble-free compliance with clause S2 of the new NHBC regulations, according to Yorkshire Fittings.

Tectite Sprint push-fit fittings are manufactured from copper or DZR brass in sizes from 10mm to 28mm, and have a non-demountable slim-line design that results in increased mechanical strength. A Tectite Sprint System comprises push-fit fittings and approved tubes or pipes, namely Yorkex copper tube from Yorkshire Copper Tube Limited or Tectite System PEX pipe. Tectite Sprint fittings are also compatible with PB pipes to BS 7291 Part 2 to provide maximum versatility.

The “push” element of jointing Tectite Sprint fittings is instantaneous, and the simple tool-free jointing action requires no secondary operations such as soldering, twisting, tightening or locking. Tube can be prepared and joints completed in approximately a third of the time taken to joint capillary fittings in 15mm and 22mm sizes. In addition, Tectite Sprint’s slim-line design means it can easily be installed in confined spaces, and together these factors result in significant installed cost savings.

Tectite Sprint Systems are offered with guarantees of 30 years, and are WRAS approved. They are designed for use on hot and cold water services, heating and chilled water applications and low temperature hot water services.

The range is completed by Tectite Classic demountable push-fit fittings, Tectite Pro higher performance push-fit fittings and the Tectite 316 stainless steel push-fit System.
