Fadbec expands business
(30/05/2006)
Fabdec Ltd will develop a new storage and manufacturing area near their main manufacturing site to keep up with demand for their new Excelsior and Excelsior S cylinders.
Fabdec looked into building on a number of possible sites, as well as potentially building on to their existing facilities, however a redundant building close to their manufacturing plant which had lain unused for over seven years proved the ideal solution.
Managing Director of Fabdec, Chris Powell explained the rapid expansion. “We have been delighted with the response to our Excelsior and Excelsior S cylinders and took the decision that we needed to be able to produce and hold more stock to meet our customers’ growing needs. We have a great reputation for prompt product availability and as a business we were conscious that without expansion we might not continue to meet the high standards we set ourselves.”
“The site was an eyesore and we felt that converting it would not only solve our need for more facilities, but would also turn a potentially dangerous building into something far more aesthetically pleasing for local residents. I suppose you could say it was a win-win situation” he explained.
Whilst progressing their plans for developing the site, Fabdec was awarded a Redundant Building Grant of £46,000 from the Rural Regeneration Zone to assist in the process.
The building works have just started and are estimated to be completed by June 2006, with the planned expansion set to create 22 new jobs.
