Free Express software from Estimation

Estimation Express was launched in January 2006 and now has over 3,000 registered users. Estimation Group has launched an upgraded version of its free Express software package for sole traders and small contractors working in the electrical, heating, plumbing, ventilation and air conditioning sectors. Registered users of Express have already been automatically upgraded to the latest version through the integral LiveUpdate facility.

New features include the Job Worksheet, designed for saving lists of materials and calculating the selling value of jobs. Job Worksheet makes Express even easier and significantly quicker to use because all of the estimate information is now contained within Express rather than being exported to Microsoft Excel.

Another useful feature is the ‘Combine Like Items’ tool. When the same items has been added to the estimate at different places throughout the job, this new feature brings those items together into a single line of the take-off.

Additional new tools include the ability to automatically increment job numbers and purchase order numbers, the ability to set default values for Job Worksheet filename prefixes and easier setting up of VAT percentages and labour rates.
