Independent heating solutions manufacturer ADEY has secured a £250,000 contract to supply British Gas installation engineers with its power-flush filter.

British Gas’s Central Heating Installations division has taken delivery of 1,200 ADEY-designed MagnaClean PowerFlush Filter units which are already in operation with direct labour engineers throughout the country.

The filter connects into the power-flushing pump and gives a significant boost to the traditional power-flushing process. Engineers can now demonstrate exactly how much sludge has been trapped in the system and at the same time satisfy customers that a thorough operation has been carried out.

Following its launch 18 months ago, the MagnaClean PowerFlush Filter has outstripped sales targets and production has been stepped up to meet increasing demand from professional installers and engineers across the central heating sector.

Its powerful, compact magnetic filter has a unique swirl chamber designed to remove virtually 100% of suspended iron oxide and other deposits from the water circulating through heating systems.

ADEY’s filter is removing an average of 3 kg of sludge and other deposits during a power-flush on a typical system and is compatible with all chemicals used in system cleaning, including acids.

According to National Support Installation Manager for British Gas Phil Sadler, the MagnaClean PowerFlush Filter solves an industry problem incredibly effectively and meets a need they have been looking to respond to for a long time.

He said: “From an operational point of view the product’s superb. The tool isn’t new to us and we’ve been looking at it for some time, but this is the first time we used it on this scale and we’re already getting very positive feedback. What we also like is the way the product is promoted. It fits perfectly with our way of thinking. The benefits of having central heating systems power-flushed are self-evident and this is hopefully the way we’ll be moving forward.”

ADEY Managing Director and power-flush specialist Chris Adey expressed delight from such a positive endorsement following the application of more than 20 years of his own personal experience in developing a solution for a long-standing industry problem: “We’ve worked hard to produce the best results possible and we’re convinced we’ve got a winner in terms of quality and effectiveness. We believe the MagnaClean range of products will become essential tools for every professional central heating engineer.
