Viessmann joins BEAMA Domestic Heat Pump Association
(13/04/2010)
In 2009, BEAMA created the BEAMA Domestic Heat Pump Association. Its chairman is Chris Davis, Head of Renewables at Dimplex. Kelly Butler, marketing director at BEAMA, has welcomed heating manufacturer Viessmann joining its Domestic Heat Pump Association (BDHPA).
He says it marks a significant step forward in the BDHPA’s recognition. Kelly Butler: “Such a major player as Viessmann joining our growing ranks, reflects the continuing impact we’re making in the marketplace as part of our plan to promote the installation of over 1 million heat pumps in the UK by 2020.
"Our members are working with Government and other partners towards achieving the objectives of the Renewable Energy Strategy. This identifies that by 2020 heat pumps can play a key role in increasing the renewable heat share from 1% to 12%. Having Viessmann onboard adds even more weight in our evolution as a potent force in the heat pump arena.”
Viessmann’s director of product management Christian Engelke says: “As a pioneer in the field of heat pump manufacture, Viessmann has for thirty years, been setting standards in efficient energy utilisation and long service life through its advanced systems.
“The recent focus towards renewable products in the UK market now makes it important to have strong and focussed manufacturer representation to ensure the market is well prepared for the development and installation of heat pump systems. Viessmann is looking forward to working with BEAMA and its members in these challenging times.”
