Incommunities and Powerminster Gleeson Services commended for their gas repair and servicing programme
(29/01/2010)
Following an Audit Commission short notice inspection of Incommunities, the largest social landlord in the Bradford District, Incommunities housing group and its gas repairs and maintenance partner Powerminster Gleeson Services have been commended for their gas repair and servicing programme.
In their inspection report, the Audit Commission highlighted that performance in undertaking gas servicing was high adding that ‘strengths significantly outweigh weaknesses in this area (gas safety)’. It highlighted the strong focus on ensuring all their tenants receive their annual gas service safety check with current performance standing at an outstanding 99.6 per cent of all homes.
The inspection also revealed that gas safety checks were well advertised and tenants were given flexible appointment times to improve access to their homes.
It is nine months since Powerminster Gleeson Services had its contract renewed with Incommunities (formerly Bradford Community Housing Trust) for a further four years. The contract was awarded through the Northern Housing Consortium Framework, for which Powerminster Gleeson Services is an approved supplier, after meeting all of its rigorous criteria.
The contract involves providing gas servicing and maintenance for 18,500 Incommunities’ homes in the Bradford district. This includes providing an annual scheduled service to every household and a 24/7 emergency response service through its dedicated call centre. Powerminster Gleeson Services won the contract as part of a competitive tendering process, after demonstrating that it provided both exceptional value for money, combined with a high quality service.
Ken Nicholson, Director of Incommunities, Development and Regeneration said: “We are delighted that the inspectors report highlights the very strong progress we have made in ensuring our customers receive their annual home gas service. It is a fantastic testament to the team at Incommunities who are responsible for running the contract and our partner, Powerminster Gleeson Services, who work closely with us to ensure the highest service delivery for our customers.”
Keith Shivers, Managing Director of Powerminster Gleeson Services, explains: “This is great news for tenants in the Bradford area, who will continue to benefit from safer, more energy efficient and comfortable homes. Our team of dedicated engineers has worked alongside Incommunities Group and its residents for many years to deliver high quality gas servicing and emergency repairs and we look forward to helping them build on this latest success.”
Powerminster Gleeson Services employs a dedicated team of skilled gas engineers in the Bradford area and has its headquarters on Square Street. Last year alone, the company provided servicing and repairs to thousands of residents in Bradford, making the company one of the largest providers of gas services in the area.
