Polypipe Terrain Director appointed Deputy Chairman of The Housing Forum
(07/07/2008)
Adam Turk, Sales and Marketing Director for Polypipe Terrain, has been appointed as a Deputy Chairman of The Housing Forum - the cross-sector organisation which drives the agenda for change in the UK house building and refurbishment market.
A founder member of the Forum and a board member since 2003, Adam was elected to his new position by the forum members. These include senior representatives of key leaders and innovators in the housing industry including major house builders, housing associations and architects. Members of the Forum’s board are frequently asked to convey industry opinions to the Government, not only on barriers to construction improvements but also potential solutions.
In his new role, Adam will help develop the Forum’s activities in assisting members to maintain their position at the forefront of best practice, and present cross-sector industry views to government which encourage innovation and the removal of barriers to continuous improvement.
Adam will be responsible for co-ordinating the Forum’s activities with those of Constructing Excellence where he also brings his industry experience to bear on the Membership and Marketing team. Adam will also be responsible for internal Forum activities such as membership, and will help develop the Forum’s relationships with other Constructing Excellence programs across the commercial and infrastructure fields.
Adam comments on his new role: “It is a great honour for me to take up the position of Deputy Chairman of The Housing Forum. I’ve been committed to the Forum’s work since it was founded in 1999 and I hope that this new role will allow me to develop new initiatives that improve construction industry standards even further. “
Membership of the Housing Forum provides many benefits including member-only conferences and other knowledge sharing facilities, as well as access to Government via an influential and independent organisation.
