The Dimplex radio frequency control solution now offers an even greater level of control over electric heating appliances all around the home, as it is available with an LCD programmer unit to give 24 hour or seven day programming.

The RF LCD programmer gives thermostatic control to ‘dumb’ appliances such as towel rails which don’t usually come with an integral thermostat, improving control for the user over energy use and fuel costs. And as control is central to Part L of the Building Regulations, the system can make it easier to achieve compliance.

The system consists of an RF receiver mounted near to the appliance and a wall-mounted LCD thermostatic programmer that can be installed somewhere more convenient, for example outside an en suite.

With four programmable time periods, the unit switches a heater or other electric appliance between On and Off modes, to give close control over running costs. A version is also available which gives seven day programming, allowing the user to set a different programme for weekends.

A backlit LCD screen with power save mode makes programming easy to see and saves energy when not in use, while a clever memory function makes sure that settings are saved in the memory for 12 hours in the event of a power failure.

The unit also features a 30 minute boost button for a quick warm-up, without the risk of leaving the appliance on after the required temperature has been reached.

The wall mounted controller fits into a double gang wiring accessory back box and can control any heater up to a loading of 2kW, more than adequate to control electric towel rails and most other electrical heating appliances within the home.

The RF programmer is IPX4 rated as splash proof and is safe for use in wet areas such as bathrooms.
