Powerminster Gleeson Services renews contract to provide gas servicing and maintenance in the Bradford district

Powerminster Gleeson Services has renewed its contract with Incommunities (formerly Bradford Community Housing Trust) for a further four years. The contract, which is valued at £7.4m, will involve providing gas servicing and maintenance for 19,000 Incommunities’ homes in the Bradford district. It will include providing an annual scheduled service to every household and providing a 24/7 emergency response service through its dedicated call centre.

This is the first contract to be awarded through the Northern Housing Consortium Framework, for which Powerminster Gleeson Services has become a recently approved supplier, after meeting all of its rigorous criteria.

Powerminster Gleeson Services won the contract as part of a competitive tendering process, after demonstrating that it provided both exceptional value for money, combined with a high quality service.

The company has been providing repair and maintenance services to rented homes in the district since 1996 when the properties were owned by Bradford Council. Powerminster Gleeson Services has continued to service the homes following the stock transfer of local authority homes from the Council to Bradford Community Housing Trust in 2003.

Powerminster Gleeson Services employs a dedicated team of around 40 highly skilled gas engineers in the Bradford area.

Powerminster Gleeson Services has seen great success over the years working alongside Incommunities and its residents, regularly achieving a rating of over 90 per cent for its approach to gas servicing and emergency repairs in tenant satisfaction surveys. This is partly due to its operating policies and procedures, which include working to strict key performance indicators (KPIs), in association with Incommunities’ requirements, which are assessed on a quarterly basis.

Powerminster Gleeson Services will shortly be appointing a resident liaison officer, whose role it will be to communicate with tenants before, during and after their boiler servicing, to ensure they are kept fully informed and are completely happy with the service. The company will be introducing weekend appointment times to better fit in with residents working hours. They will also be introducing all the six foreign languages spoken in the Bradford area to its correspondence with residents to promote better communication and understanding.

Last year alone, Powerminster Gleeson Services provided services to thousands of residents in Bradford, making the company one of the largest providers of gas services in the area.
