Air source heat pumps integrated into pressurised hot water cylinder free RSS news feed from the Plumbing, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning News Portal

At the beginning of september 2008 I installed my first air source heat pump. Being sceptical about how these machines work, I installed the machine onto a heating system, telling the customer that I would return in six months to throw his boiler back in if he wasn't happy.

Three weeks later I get a phone call, not only is the customer happy with his air source heat pump but he wants me to remove his 250 ltr megaflow pressurised hot water cylinder and replace it with a combind air source heat pump and pressurised hot water cylinder.

Having scratched my head a bit I set to work. The unit itself comes in a white casing which contains the pressurised hot water cyinder on top of this is a black plastic cover containing the integrated air source heat pump and the programmer.

The whole unit was easy to install as it is basically no different than any pressurised hot water cylinder the only difference is that Ihad install a condensate drain and some air ducting for the inlet of the air source heat pump. The prewired electrics were wired into the old immersion switch, simple.

Overall the unit is easy to install, extremely quiet and working efficiently in a house with 2 bathrooms and 5 people.

The air source heat pump and the pressurised hot water cylinder incorporating an air source heat pump were supplied by Earth Save Products Ltd.
