A recent program of investment has resulted in a significant increase in the capacity of the Polypipe Terrain plant in Aylesford, Kent. This plant is the key production centre for the Terrain range of above ground drainage products, which complements the company’s plastic piping systems portfolio.

Approximately £1 million has been invested in the plant over recent months, with the installation of a new HDPE extrusion line and three additional injection moulding machines. Some redevelopment work has also been completed on the site to create additional storage capacity.

“These have been very significant steps in our program to develop the Aylesford operation,” explains Lee Dawes, Finance Director for Polypipe Terrain. “We are investing heavily in the long-term future of the plant and in the development of the skills and experience that is available to us here, following the acquisition of Terrain by Polypipe last summer.

“These moves have allowed us to bring certain extrusion and moulding operations on-site. From our customers’ point of view that means we can be far more flexible and responsive to their needs, and they also lay the ground works for other investment and manufacturing improvements that we intend to make in the near future.”
