Optiflush for Derbyshire County Council school cloakrooms

Pegler Yorkshire's Optiflush has been used in commercial environments up and down the country and continues to be specified by a number of county councils. Local councils have been using Pegler Yorkshire products for many years, and for Derbyshire County Council, Optiflush has proved to be the product of choice in school cloakrooms throughout the county, with most recent installation taking place in a school in Belper.

“We have been using Pegler products for over 30 years now, so I think it is safe to say we like the products, “said the council’s Peter Fuller, “hundreds of products must now have been installed throughout the county.”

When Optiflush senses movement in the cloakroom, it stores this knowledge and only activates the flush after a delay period set by the installer. The system also provides a hygiene flush that operates twice every day. This comes into operation if the cloakroom is not used regularly and is of particular use in locations such as schools, where a cloakroom may be left unused for up to six weeks.

During the six week period, Optiflush will still activate twice daily to ensure the continued hygiene of the system is maintained and for Derbyshire County Council, this feature and the reliability of Optiflush has led it to be installed in several schools over the last few months, most recently in Belper. Use and reliability are the key council concerns, but Optiflush also allows for a more environmentally friendly control of water in the cloakrooms in which it is installed.

“We install the mains powered version of Optiflush,” continued Peter, “and we have found it to be very reliable. It is also important to us that it is supplied from a recognised market leader.”

Market Product Manager Barrie Plant has been responsible for Optiflush and has seen the product grow in popularity. “We do offer a battery operated unit as well as a mains version,” said Barrie, “With environmental issues being at the forefront of many people’s thinking, Optifush is an ideal product. It is discreet, reliable and saves water while hygienically flushing the system.”
