Kent couple wins Thermoboard's UFH competition

Project Manager Owen Roberts and his wife Vicky have been announced as the winners of Thermoboard’s three word combination competition, and will soon see their creative efforts appear across trade media as part of the UFH brand’s current advertising campaign. Their entry, “Ubiquitous Friendly Happiness”, was voted for by hundreds of visitors in a competition which asked for three words describing ‘What UFH means to you’. It will now be used within Thermoboard’s existing campaign which currently features UFH-themed phrases such as “Unusual Feet Heaters” and “Uninviting Frosty House”. Wavin offers hints and tips on how to achieve successful installation and a quality finish with Wavin UFH – keeping those all important customers happy. To make sure there is no heat lost for your customer, place edge insulation around the perimeter of the room before installation with the integral gaiter facing the floor, this way the room will be kept nice and cosy. Remember that UFH circuits should not be installed in floor areas that will be covered by major fixtures, otherwise in the case of kitchen installations, the fridge might defrost rather quickly! When laying the pipe, avoid bending the UFH pipe more tightly than a radius of 120mm and never use joints in pipe where it will be covered by screed. Varme unveils underfloor heating mats for kitchens and conservatories

Varme has unveiled its new range of underfloor heating mats which are ideal for use in rooms with a small floor space, but large cubic area - like kitchens with plenty of floor units - and conservatories which suffer from a large loss of heat. Until recently, Varme’s smallest 200 watt cable mats were 5 square metres in size, but now they can supply from 1 sq. m. up to 10 sq. m. and every unit in between. These mats are intended for heating tiles, stone, or marble flooring and can also be laid under vinyl, laminate and thin carpets.
