Dimplex launches LAB M domestic air source heat pump(01/04/2010)
Air source heat pump's technology has become increasingly popular for social housing refurbishment programmes as well as with private domestic consumers. Next year’s 7.5p per kWh ‘clean energy cashback’ under the Renewable Heat Incentive will further add to the already attractive combination of reduced fuel bills and lower carbon emissions. With the forthcoming revised Building Regulations Part L, the introduction in 2011 of the Renewable Heat Incentive and the progression of the Code for Sustainable Homes, air source heat pumps present a major opportunity to reduce carbon emissions from domestic heating and hot water. Dimplex has launched a new range of domestic air source heat pumps. The LAB M range provides efficient heating and hot water for the modern home, yet is competitively-... [read full article]
Potterton Solar in-roof panels achieve MCS Transitional Agreement certification(24/03/2010)
The Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) was conceived by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) and will be the universal route to financial assistance for microgeneration technologies in the UK. It is also a quality mark that demonstrates how microgeneration technologies have been rigorously assessed and meet the scheme’s robust quality and performance criteria. MCS will underpin the Low Carbon Buildings Programme Phase 2. Qualifying public sector and not-for-profit organisations, such as housing associations, local authorities and registered charities, can apply for up to 50 per cent of the project cost. However, both products and installers will have to be MCS certified for the applicant to qualify for funding. Potterton Solar in-roof panels have achieved Transi... [read full article]

Dimplex air source heat pumps and Solar Keymarked solar thermal water heating systems eligible for grant assistance(10/06/2009)
The Low Carbon Building Programme Phase 2 has been extended until April 2011. Following the latest budget announcement, an additional £45 million has been allocated to the LCBP, £35 million of which has been directed to Phase 2, the public sector stream. This sees the scheme extend from July 2009 until April 2011 to continue to support renewable technologies’ development until the introduction of the Feed-in Tariffs and the Renewable Heat Incentive. Dimplex can now help even more schools, housing associations and other not-for-profit organisations to access low carbon heat. What’s more, the extended scheme now covers all Dimplex products registered on the Microgeneration Certification Scheme or carrying the Solar Keymark, giving applicants greater choice over the technology that’s best...
